CALEDONIA,
NY - It had been nearly 3 years since a member of Team AHR
has taken to the track at the Limerock Speedway in the 600 open
class, but young 16 year old Zack Morgan picked right up where
father Timex left off 3 years ago, winning. Zack would start the
14 car – 30 lap A-Main in 5th but by lap 13 was right
on the doorstep of 2007 Limerock Track Champion Brandon Goetz.
Morgan waited patiently for a mistake and at the first chance
took the position away from Goetz and never looked back winning
the event by almost a straightaway. Father Timex Morgan would
need to work his way up through the pack after being spun on lap
17, but within 3 laps found himself back into the top 5. With 6
laps to go, Morgan would get by Goetz for the 3rd
spot, but could not get around the #4 car of Eric Bovee for the
runner up spot. 2007 Paradise Speedway Amateur Champ ion
Ethan Morgan also had a great night finishing 5th in
the open class and 2nd in the Super Sportsman
wingless class. It was a night of double duties for the 15 year
old who started his racing career at Limerock Speedway in the
Kart division.
Limerock Speedway has really
done a tremendous job on their racing surface which made for a
great night of racing. A great job deserved to Dan, Bob and the
whole Limerock staff on a great night of racing. Should be a
great time in two weeks when the NYMM Series roles into town on
May 31st. |
